An Economic and Educational Development Initiative

Abbotsford Technology Park is a future initiative that supports the following economic objectives of the Region:

- Economic and enterprise development
- Education and skill creation
- Investment attraction
- Export and trade
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
- Diversification of the Abbotsford economy

The Abbotsford Technology Park (ATP) originated as a concept developed by the Founders of SRCTec as a Master Plan to enhance the long range economic and education development of Abbotsford and the surrounding area. Phase one of this plan (Abbotsford Technology Park) is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for the fast moving world of high tech. A group of local retired and semi retired technology executives who founded SRCTec, plan to leverage ATP as the platform for a more extensive Phase II; which calls for attracting technology-oriented companies to the area and making Abbotsford a hub for high tech and advanced technology enterprises.

The ATP will provide young and established companies a truly unique experience, a central location and a practical, yet prestigious environment. Leveraging the Abbotsford International Airport, easily accessible from Vancouver and a convenient drive to Seattle, it is the vision of SRCTec and its founders that ATP will rapidly become a catalyst for the emergence of a strong technology sector in Abbotsford.

SRCTec and its partners, including the City of Abbotsford and private sector sponsors, will strive to deliver a leading edge, environmentally-friendly infrastructure that will be instrumental in the generation of an innovative cluster. comprising organisations representing software and hardware firms and IT services companies; R&D based technologies, research programs, education institutions, technology transfer program and an entrepreneur development facility for technology start ups.
