Entrepreneur Development

Although some people feel that entrepreneurs are born, not made, experience has shown us that entrepreneurship can be taught, and that a positive environment encourages entrepreneurial thinking, promotes innovation, and leads to a higher degree of social and economic sustainability.

SRCTec incubates start up companies in information technology, communications technology, and related fields. Client companies at SRCTec can increase their likelihood of success through:

• A premier mentoring program.
• Assistance with business planning and strategies.
• Shared office services.
• Access to some of the most influential businesses and support networks
  in the Lower Mainland.

The Entrepreneur Development and Support Services delivered by SRCTec are available to individuals and start-ups through a simple and direct process and subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

The admission process is initiated by the prospective client company indicating to SRCTec staff their interest in being accepted into the Entrepreneur Development Program. If staff believe the company meets established criteria to be a potentially good candidate, they are invited to submit an Application for Admission. After due diligence and background checks, SRCTec staff convenes a session of SRCTec Board of Directors for a thorough review of the candidate's application. This may involve face-to-face meetings with the candidate's management team and formal presentations to the committee. If accepted, the candidate is admitted to the SRCTec program as either a Client or as an Associate. "Client" means a company residing at the premises of SRCTec. "Associate" means an admitted company residing elsewhere.
